News letter July 2014
Welcome to our Summer 2014 newsletter. We can’t believe the summer is around the corner; the weather improved for Wimbledon and the start of the School Holidays. A Very Big Thank you all for the support and words of encouragement you have provided throughout the year. It’s good to know that we are making a difference to the young people by giving them the extra boost they need. It has been so rewarding to see all of our students improve and grow in confidence.
We will be open for lessons during the summer holidays, mainly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. A separate timetable is available. Please book your choices with David at the most convenient times for you. We are happy to be flexible so don’t worry if you can only make a different day/time. Whatever you find yourselves doing over the Summer we hope you have an amazing and relaxing time. We’ve heard talk of some exotic destinations!!
Normal lessons will begin at the start of the new term on Monday 8th September 2014.
All the children and young people who have attended for lessons have done really well.
They are all STARS!
End of Term Awards
We’ll be doing some awards to celebrate the best of the best as we approach the end of term. Please look out for these.
Our Sports Star, James, trains with the Elite GB snowboarding and mogul squads and regularly competes all over the UK and in Europe. He continues to bring in medals from a variety of competitions - which is almost as exciting for us as it is for his family.
We’ve had the privilege of working with several GCSE Students this year, who have now left us. All have worked really hard and we wish them the best of luck and success as they move into their next challenge.
Our software application continues to evolve with new material being added throughout the Year. Both Homework and at Home lessons are available if you’d like to explore these opportunities. Please ask us for further details – they’re not intended as a substitute for Centre lessons but provide for greater flexibility for busy parents. The ability to provide on line tuition is coming before Christmas.
We would like to thank everyone who has been part of our Centre this year. Special thanks go to Paul Lolley, Kalley Ottewell, Sarah Lane, Elliot Cooper, Helen Murphy, Viv Guy and Gill Jones. We’re really pleased to have these fantastic teachers on board and we know this will continue to deliver the best possible standards for the children.
At some point over the Summer, Sue needs to have an operation on her back to relieve severe sciatic pain, which will undoubtedly involve a period of recuperation during which she won’t be teaching in the Centre. These lessons will be covered by the above team so we’re confident of success. We’ll provide you with regular updates on her progress and welcome her speedy return.
